Well, today has been an exciting day. Matt's mom came home today. For those of you who don't know she was in the hospital since January 18th. She had some complications with a knee replacement and was there for 6 weeks, will be home for two, and then go back for one last surgery. Doctors are hopeful that after the last surgery and its recovery that Bev may be able to walk without a walker. That will be amazing!
The animals were all so happy to see her. Nacho visited her once in the hospital. Who knew that Greenville Memorial had a policy that allows dogs in their hospitals. Oreo and especially Cameron will be happy to see her. Cameron doesn't really like anyone much except for Bev so I sure she has felt deprived of love these last few weeks. Oreo kept standing against the side of the bed to lay her head on Bev. It was so sweet. I don’t care what anyone says, animals are sensitive and aware of things like when a family member is in pain.
As of tomorrow Matt and I will have been married for three months! Sometimes it seems like we just walked down the aisle yesterday and other days it seems like we've been married for a year. He is a wonderful husband. He regularly tells me I'm beautiful (I think he's going blind haha) and how blessed he is to have me. He encourages me when times are tough and rejoices with me over even the smallest things.Too bad ladies, he's taken.
I'm often amazed at him and so proud to call him my husband. The Sundays he's at church, he's in charge of worship. Hopefully someday he'll have a job that allows him to be of f on Sundays for church. I watch him pour his heart into the music and he leads 30 people (give or take a few) before the throne of God in worship. Our songs are a pleasant aroma to Him and my amazing husband is charge of ushering us into the presence of God. Wow!
The animal farm was lively this morning. Thats what I sometimes think it is here. Two dogs and two cats can make for an interesting mix. I've had all but Cameron in the bed with me this morning. Then, everyone abandoned me except for O who is definitely the most faithful of the bunch. Cammie eventually wandered up, scavaging for food, as always. She's so fat!
Roscoe has had fun joining our family. He has been well accepted as you’ll see in the pictures I post and he even had a fun outing today.

Meet Roscoe

Ok... for those of you who don't know for quite some time I've been joking about how much I want a pet polar bear. I know this is a completely ridiculous idea but if you've seen a picture of a polar bear cub you know how cute and cuddly they look.

So, my friend, Meredith, bought me a polar bear! Its one of those webkinz things that are so popular right now among kids. I was able to go to the webkinz website and adopt my polar bear, who has been affectionately named Roscoe. He's so cute. According to his bio, his best friend is a puppy and he really enjoys french fries and reading scary stories and he's always wanted to own a game of checkers. Can you see why these webkinz things are so popular among kids?! Its like having a pet without all the responsibility. I've become quite attached to Roscoe already and I decided that I'll keep you guys updated on the mischief that Roscoe may get into... haha

Well, since its 11:30 pm I should get to bed. Have a good night. Leave Roscoe some love.

Oops

Ok so no one in my family tells me anything. haha As an update to my entry earlier today, Joseph came home from Iraq earlier this month because his father-in-law died and his mom is having a welcome home party for him this weekend so maybe I'll get to see him.

Happy Birthday, Joseph!

Today is a special day. Today, my cousin Joseph, turns 27. He will also be celebrating his birthday in Iraq. He left for Iraq just a couple of days after our wedding and is there for an indefinite amount of time. He's missed spending Christmas, New Year's, and now his birthday with his wife. While I'm sad that he's missed out on these holidays, that doesn't mean that I think he shouldn't be there. I certainly hate that we're in a war and that lives are being lost on a regular basis. But, my theory remains that as long as he believes he should be there then I'll side with him. He's the one dealing with battle on a daily basis. He's the one coming face to face with danger and securing our freedom which all too often is taken for granted. So, as long as he thinks he should be there, then I think he's doing the right thing.

So, when you get a moment today, say a prayer on his behalf that God's guardian angels would keep him safe from harm. Remember him when you see a flag or when you exercise the right to free speech or the right to religious freedom or any of the other freedoms we posses as Americans.

Thanks, Joseph! I love you and Happy Birthday!

A New Beginning

Well, I've had blogs before but it always seems that someone new comes along and the site I use becomes a thing of the past. I'm hoping that I can maintain this blog and keep up my writing. I enjoy writing about just about anything. If you have a topic, leave a comment and we'll get a conversation going. If not, I'll just write about whatever comes to mind. For now, I must retire for the evening. Goodnight and I hope you visit often.
